Abstract

Technology that gained unbelievable popular and known to such an audience like nothing before – why, and does it deserve it? And most importantly – what are the actual use cases and benefits? How should it be used and what could be future directions in its development? Alex will talk about it from the perspective of the experience that he gained working in companies that are dealing with all kinds of possible implementation of blockchain, and share some actual cases.

About the lecturer

Alex Migitko is always focusing on higher-level solutions and implementations. Recognizing opportunities and going for them. Blockchain is a great technology and can bring a lot of value to many industries, starting with finances, but it has to be treated properly and carefully. That’s why we are building a whole range of products that interact with each other and create a complete ecosystem where every part can act on its own, but a combination brings in the ultimate value. In order to achieve that goal we have to build a strong cooperation with different partners – banks and financial institutions to recognize the needs of the industry; big companies like IBM and Microsoft to have a common vision of the technical scope of the problem; universities to bring in academical approach and educate students about new technologies; industry people to create a momentum bot just in our company but in the whole region; hunt best specialists to bring together different approaches and values.
